September 11, 2015 at 09:00 in town Priozersk, Leningrad Region, one of the leading enterprises of the domestic wood processing industry OJSC "Lesplitinvest" will hold the grand opening of a new production woodworking complex. The ceremony will be attended by the First Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Gleb Nikitin, the Governor of the Leningrad Region Alexander Drozdenko, heads of district administrations, heads of sectoral committees, business representatives and other high-level officials.
The investment project for organization of domestic production of sawn timber and technological chips is implemented within the framework of the integrated development strategy for woodworking enterprises belonging to the Industrial Group "Soyuz".
The main objective of the project is to increase the profitability and capitalization of the company through the implementation of integrated wood processing, using the method of "zero waste", expanding the range of manufactured and sold products, including associated products, increasing the added value of existing production facilities.
The design capacity for sawn raw material is more than 240 000 m3 per year.
Objectives of the investment project
• Access to foreign markets of sawn timber and technological chips to obtain the FSC international certificate (environmentally responsible forest management).
• Supplying the domestic MDF boards production with technological chips, access to the cellulose chips market.
• The use of wood waste products in the boiler room to produce industrial steam and heat energy used in the production of dry of sawn timber and MDF boards.
Currently, the basis of a new range of production is formed by fir and pine sawn timber, technological chips. Wood (pine logs) is purchased in the northern regions of Russia: the Leningrad region, the Republic of Karelia, the Arkhangelsk and Vologda regions.
The production is carried out on the modern equipment from the leading suppliers.
As a part of the grand opening of sawmill and wood processing complex for production of sawn timber and wood products, tours around the new production sites are scheduled for the guests and media representatives.
